Ann Skalaski, the founder and president of Skalaski Consulting, Inc., has been a legal search consultant since 1997. From 1991-96 she served as the Assistant Dean for Career Services at the University of Florida College of Law where she developed strong ties with lawyers and law firms throughout the state. Prior to her tenure at the University of Florida, Ann spent nine years at Holland & Knight, LLP as the Director of Attorney Recruitment and the firm’s first Attorney Development Manager.

Ann’s in-depth knowledge of the legal recruitment process and her ongoing interaction with managing partners, hiring partners, recruitment professionals, Deans, career services professionals and lawyers in transition, provide her with a global perspective on the current recruitment issues impacting law firms and law schools. Additionally, her broad experience and career counseling background enable her to effectively coach lawyers who are seeking greater career satisfaction.

Ann has presented programs and published articles on managing career services, job search strategies, interview skills, networking, professional development and balancing work and family.  She is a contributing author of Beyond L.A. Law which was published by Harcourt Brace in 1998.   As a member of the National Association for Legal Professionals (NALP), Ann served in both elected and appointed positions, including Chair of the 1996 NALP Annual Education Conference.  She also served on the Quality of Life/Stress Management Committee of The Florida Bar.

Ann received her M.A. in Counseling from the University of South Florida and her B.A. in Education from the University of Florida.  She is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory.
